Club Guidelines for Youth |
Youth Classes
We understand that healthy bodies begin at a very young age. Children can take swim lessons, racquetball, kids pilates, kids yoga, Boot Camp (12 and over), or participate in team sports such as Basketball (coached and drop in) Dodgeball (drop in) Soccer Skills (Middleton Youth Soccer Club - coached)
Locker rooms
Children over 3 years of age must use appropriate sex locker rooms. Parent/Child locker rooms are available near the warm water pool and the sport pool.
Supervision
Children under 14 years of age must be supervised by a parent or guardian 18+ (16+ with permission on file) or taken to a supervised area such as Kids Club. Parents or guardians are responsible for the actions of their children at all times.
Participation in Weight Rooms/Group Exercise
Children under 14 years are not allowed in the Weight rooms or Group Exercise classes even with a parent, except during youth classes, Harbor supervised activities, or if the child has been certified.
Children 8-13 years are allowed on the Netpulse Bikes, Recumbent Bikes and Rowing Machines with a parent present giving direct supervision.Children under 14 may use the track during open gym time with direct supervision.
8-13 year olds may use the gyms during open gym time with a parent or guardian supervising within visual contact. Seven year olds and under may use the gyms during open gym time with direct supervision from a parent or guardian.
Kids Court
Kids Court is a supervised physical activity in different areas of the club. Times and ages vary. Kids must be checked in and out of Kids Club.
Boot Camp
Boot Camp is a high-intensity class designed for both athletes and non-athletes looking to improve explosive power, increase speed, agility, quickness, jumping ability, coordination, and balance. Drills will be sport-special and functional so as to incorporate the body as a whole. Taught by certified personal trainers for ages 12 and up. A punch card is available to non-members.
Resistance Training for ages 9-13
Harbor offers a class for ages 9-13 which focuses on safety in the weight room. The participants will learn the benefits of a life-long resistance training program in a fun, positive environment. Youth will learn to use their own body weight for resistance exercises that can be performed anywhere. They will also learn what machines they are allowed to use and which ones fit them properly.
Yoga for Toddlers
Toddler's yoga is available on Friday mornings for our 3-5 year olds!
Pilates for Kids
Kids will have learn to have fun using and stretching their muscles. Mat Pilates is available for kids ages 9-13.
