Studies have determined that exercise for pregnant women substantially reduces the rate of C-sections and the use of forceps. Pregnant women who exercise can expect an average of two hours less labor time, improved circulation, increased muscle tone and improved posture. New mothers, who exercised during pregnancy, return to their pre-pregnancy weight quicker and in general adjust to the rigors of motherhood easier.

The Moms in Motion (MIM) class offerings are held in six-week sessions (but new participants can enter at any time). This program provides not only a safe and effective exercise regime, but also valuable information on pregnancy, postpartum and child safety.
About Our Instructors/ Trainers
All of our MIM staff members are certified instructors by one or more of the following organizations: the American College of Sports Medicine, the American Council on Exercise, the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America, or the Aquatic Exercise Association. They have recieved a specialty certificate in pre/post natal exercise through DSW Fitness and/or SCW Fitness.

Moms In Motion Group Exercise Classes and Personal Training Programs follow the American College of Obstertrics & Gynecology (ACOG)
Guidelines, the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) fitness recommendations and the most current research and updates on exercise and pregnancy.Several steps will be taken to ensure safety:
• Supine position avoided due to supine
hypotensive syndrome
• Motionless standing in class will be avoided
