Kirk Harvell has been involved in teaching and training others since his days as a Marine and brings a wealth of experience in the fields of personal training, safety, security and martial arts. He is a nationally certified Personal Trainer, fitness instructor, former body builder and power lifter, 1st Degree Black Belt, CPR instructor.
Fighting Fit (FF)
Fighting Fit is a combination of functional fitness exercises, conditioning drills, discussion, and practical physical training. This class is designed for those interested in increasing their self-awareness, challenging themselves mentally and physically and interested in answering some of the ‘what if’ safety questions. Would you like to know what to do if someone grabs you from behind? Have you ever wandered how to protect yourself from getting hit or attacked? How to stay alert and aware?
Leave your ego at the door, open your mind and come join us – you will become a part of a group of like-minded individuals, have fun and learn valuable life and self-protection skills.

The Proactive Self Protection (PSP 101)
class is designed specifically for women (14 and older). Its ultimate goal is to increase self-awareness and provide the participants with basic prevention and self-protection techniques. This class utilizes the body’s natural responses to fear and stress, while teaching simple martial arts techniques.
The curriculum focuses on general safety, use of verbal skills as well as physical response to threatening situations – palm strike, knee strike and basic holds. The aim of the workshop is to not only to practice and master basic self-defense techniques but to give the participants insight into their own reactions to threatening situations to ultimately recognize, prevent and, if necessary, respond to confrontations.
PSP 101 workshops are 1.5 hours long and include a Q and A session. We found that learning self-defense works best in a comfortable and supportive atmosphere – feel free to bring a friend or family member. Watch a video of the PSP class HERE

PSP 101 K - Proactive Self Protection for Families with Children (PSPK)
Proactive Self Protection for Kids (PSP 101) is a workshop designed specifically for parents and their children (7 and older) and is entirely situation based. If you are unsure how to address the issue of bullying or ever asked yourself: "What would I do if someone would approach me and threaten me while I am walking with my child?" and "What can we do as a family to be ready for a dangerous situation?" or if you simply want to be familiar with the basic self-protection techniques kids can use to increase their safety and awareness, this class is for you! We will discuss general safety issues and practice a variety of self defense scenarios involving families.

PSP 101 C - Proactive Self Protection for Couples (PSPC)
Proactive Self Protection for Couples is a workshop created with partners (friends or family members) in mind. The ultimate goal of this workshop is to learn how to recognize, diffuse and ultimately how to effectively respond to potentially dangerous situations involving couples or partners. Practice different scenarios and situations. Learn how what to do when approached by a group or a threatening individual, how to respond to threats and how to work as an effective team.

CPR/AED/First Aid classes are certified by the American Heart Association, are taught by a certified instructor and follow the standard AHA curriculum. Upon completion of this course, each participant will receive a two-year certification. CLASS PARTICIPATION MUST BE CONFIRMED 24 HOURS PRIOR TO CLASS DATE
