Intro to Tai Chi Fundamentals - Introductory series introduces adults to the movement patterns (foundational for all Tai Chi Styles) and the Tai Chi Fundamentals Form. This class provides an effective beginning for people of all ability levels to try Tai Chi and begin to get the health benefits associated with practicing Tai Chi. Tai Chi has been shown to be helpful in improving balance, cardiovascular functioning, immune responses, weight bearing and respiration.

Intro to Tai Chi for Arthritis & Health - Based on the Sun Form of Tai Chi developed by Dr. Paul Lam. Benefiting people with arthritis to improve balance, strength, relaxation and pain reduction. Tai Chi is a gentle, slow moving exercise that promotes health and mental relaxation. Performed standing or seated. The objectives for the class are to:

  1. Provide a safe and enjoyable program that is easy for people to learn, no matter what their physical condition or age and even without prior knowledge of Tai Chi.
  2. Deliver maximum relief from the main problems experienced by people with arthritis (pain, depression and the ability to do things)
  3. Benefit health in general
  4. Improve relaxation.

Beginning Tai Chi - Appropriate for those starting in their practice of Tai Chi to learn the foundation for and the Tai Chi Fundamentals Form of 32 movements. People with limited physical ability can use chairs in this class if they wish. Intro Class Recommended before attending beginning class
-Yang Form - Gentle and effective movements emphasizing the sense of being "grounded". It requires more balance capabilities.
-Sun Form - Gentle and effective movement with more of a sense of buoyancy and "airiness" due to the manner that the upper body is used
Intermediate Tai Chi (yang/sun) - A continuation and learning the Sun and Yang Styles. This class is open to people who have had some experience doing Tai chi or by consent of the instructor.
Tai chi Yang 47 postures - The Yang Short Form is the most popular of the Tai Chi styles taught throughout the U.S. and China. It consists of 47 postures which can be learned in about a year and practiced throughout one's life. Advanced class.
