Upper body strength is critical for top performance because it not only assists in running and jumping ability, but also improves an athletes hitting, throwing, shooting, serving, spiking, tackling, checking, and swimming. Lower body strength is also a critical area for an athlete to train. All athletic motions are a result of the power that is initially generated by the lower body. 1. Acceleration:The ability to reach top speed in the shortest distance possible. Good acceleration allows an athlete to escape an opponent or move to the ball quicker. This is highly trainable.
  2. Top Speed: The combination of two parameters: stride frequency and stride length. Correct foot placement, arm mechanics and movement of the torso are key.

Body movement is powered by the torso – the abs and back working together to support the spine during everyday activities and our sporting pursuits– the TRX Suspension Trainer works to build that needed core strength. The prescribed exercises for the athlete will create an element of instability that calls on the athletes proximal stability to provide balance and coordination while generating power. The workouts will be progressive with challenging sequences.
