INFANT AND PRESCHOOL AQUATICS PROGRAM (IPAP)
This program helps young children (aged 6 months through 3 years) become comfortable in and around the water so they are ready to learn to swim. The program gives parents information and techniques to help orient their children to the water and to supervise water activities in a safe manner. Parent accompaniment in the water is required. The maximum class class size is 10 students. 

SPECIALTY PROGRAMS

ADULT BEGINNER: For adults to learn basic water skills and begin learning front crawl with rotary breathing, elementary backstroke, and backstroke. (group swim rates apply)

STROKE TECHNIQUE: This class is geared for competitive level swimmers to perfect strokes and turns. Appropriate for ages 7-11. Prerequisite must have passed American Red Cross Level 4.

PRIVATE LESSONS: One on one instruction for all ages and ability levels. If you are interested or would like additional information, please contact Kathy at the front desk.

SWIM TEAM PREP: Designed to help competitive level swimmers build endurance before the summer swim season starts. Appropriate for ages 8-12..

LEARN TO SWIM PROGRAM
The objective of the program is to teach people to swim and to be safe in, on, and around the water. There is no prerequisite for Level 1. For Levels II - VII, students must have a certificate for the preceding level or be able to demonstrate all the completion requirements of the previous level. Maximum class size is 6 students.

Level I: Water Exploration (minimum age 3 years)
Objective: To help students feel comfortable in the water and to enjoy the water safely. Elementary aquatic skills are taught (floating and kicking).

Level II: Primary Skills
Objective: To give students success with fundamental skills such as floating and combining the arms and legs together to swim.

Level III: Stroke Readiness
Objective: To coordinate the front crawl, backstroke, and elementary backstroke.

Level IV: Stroke Development
Objective: To develop confidence in the strokes learned thus far and to improve other skills. Breaststroke and sidestroke are introduced.

Level V: Stroke Refinement
Objective: Coordination and refinement of key strokes. Butterfly, open turns, and surface dives are introduced.

Level VI: Skill Proficiency
Objective: To polish strokes so students swim them with more ease, efficiency, power, and smoothness over greater distances.

Level VII: Advanced Skills
Objective: To perfect strokes and to develop good fitness habits.
