Intro to Yoga

No experience required. This class introduces students to fundational yoga postures and to basic breath work, extablishing an understanding of a yoga practice. This five week session requires a preregistration and a one time fee. Call the Wellness Center for sign up and rates at 821-6501.

Level 1

This on going class builds on to the postures and breath work learned in Intro to Yoga. Geared towards the beginning student and those seeking a gentle yoga class, this class covers the basics of standing, seated, twisted and balancing postures.

Level 2

Three months of Level 1 recommended. The postures learned in Level 1 will be refined and the time spent in poses will be extended. New and more challenging postures are introduced. Students are developing an understanding of their limitations and strengthens.

Level 3

One year of Yoga practice recommended. Building on the strength, flexibility and stamina developed in Level 2, asanas are now linked together in a flowing sequence. This class refines back extensions, inversions and various centering techniques.

Level 4

One year practicing two times a week recommended. A challenging vinyasa style class, blending extended holds in complex asanas.

General Yoga for all levels.

Yoga Made Easy

A gentle class using a chair as the main prop. If you have joint pain and limited range of motion, this class will help increase your flexibility, lung capacity, and introduce you to relaxation techniques for a better quality of life. Excellent for those with fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, and arthritis.

Yoga Fit For Life (Level 1-2)

An energizing class that will focus on strengthening and lengthening the body. The Yoga postures learned will help strengthen legs, arms, shoulders and abdominal muscles. Also, students will learn to relax and reduce stress with balanced breathing techniques.

Harbor's Yoga is an American-style yoga and has no religious implications.
