Originally from small-town Canada, I moved to Madison in 1999 to coach at the University of Wisconsin and I’ve been here ever since. My career with the Badger Women’s Hockey program spanned 12 seasons (1999-2011), during which time I had the opportunity to work with many talented athletes, coaches and trainers. Further, playing collegiate hockey at Cornell University (1993-97), competing internationally (SC-Reinach Hockey–Switzerland, 1997-98), and being involved with Hockey Canada’s U-22 development programs also provided key life lessons, for which I am truly grateful.
Though I still coach hockey at the youth level, my passion for fitness/health and wellness lead me to explore several other activities, namely cycling, triathlon (IM-WI 2006, 2008), yoga, TRX/RIP and overall functional training alongside longtime coach and mentor, Steve Myrland (Train-to-Play).
Being a movement enthusiast, my passion lies in helping others move well and enjoy the process of becoming stronger, faster and more confident in their own bodies. I believe that if we played like kids more often, we would move our bodies more often. Let’s move!
