MogaMind Workshop with Patrick
Tuesdays 6:30 pm, 3 weeks starting April 27th
Ready to shake off the Winter blues and leap into Spring with grace and enthusiasm?!! Join MogaMind co-founder Patrick Cunningham for a 3-part MogaMove workshop series combining mindfulness techniques and yoga practice. Each session has a specific theme and will include useful meditative practices you can use anytime paired with flow-based yoga sequences focused on mindful movement and body invigoration.
Session 1 – Breath & Awareness – Tues. April 27th, 6:30 – 7:45pm
We’ll begin with breath-work for calming the nervous system and meditative techniques for building mental resilience. As your mind stills and you feel grounded, the session will transition to integrated movement building upon the breath-work. The yoga part will be a smooth flow of poses interspersed with ample breathing and meditative cues.
Session 2 – Scanning and Noticing – Tues. May 4th, 6:30 – 7:45pm
This session covers body scanning and noticing techniques which help you become aware of how your body is reacting to external stimuli and “showing up” in a given movement. We’ll learn tactics for identifying body stressors and releasing tension through focused attention and movement. Building a foundation of awareness, these practices are useful for a wide range of activities and especially to help optimize well-being through simple means.
Session 3 – Full MogaMove Method – Tues. May 11th, 6:30 – 7:45pm Concluding the 3 part series, we’ll bring together the mindfulness exercises, movement techniques, and scanning practices to have a full mind and body reinvigoration. We’ll cover how to do this when you don’t have a lot of time as well as go through a deeper experience for the majority of class. Concluding with a restorative meditation, we’ll finish by integrating all we’ve learned and leaping forth into the new season!
